A shocking and heartbreaking event has unfolded in Jalingo, Taraba State. Comfort Jimtop Oliver, a 100-level Mass Communication student at Taraba State University, was found dead in her boyfriend’s apartment on Friday, September 12, 2025.
Comfort, an indigene of Takum Local Government Area, was discovered lifeless in her apartment, which is part of a compound housing several tenants.
Tragically, just hours after her death, her boyfriend, Emmanuel Kefas, a 2024 Human Kinetics graduate from the same university, was also found dead nearby in Tudiri community, a few meters from Jalingo. Residents suspect he may have taken his own life following the shocking news, though authorities are still investigating.
The circumstances surrounding both deaths remain unclear. The police have launched a formal investigation to determine what happened and are working to establish the events that led to this tragic incident.
